MIC CAMPING 2

MICamping 2025

This year’s MICamping event took place on March 21 and 22 at the MIC Primary and High School grounds. The overnight camping adventure began at 4:30 PM and ended at 7:00 AM the following morning. A total of seven teams participated, each with their unique spirit and energy. The teams were:

  • The Chill Campers
  • The Brave Scouts
  • The Mighty Troopers
  • The Adventure Junkies
  • The Trailblazers
  • The Wandering Wonders
  • The One Direction Crew

The event kicked off with opening remarks from the lead organizer, Teacher Vincent Maghanoy. Following the introduction, the teams competed in a series of fun and challenging activities, including the Balloon Caterpillar race, a Basketball Shooting game, and the Lava Walk. After these exciting games, the teams gathered for a well-deserved dinner.

Later, the participants got ready for the highlight of the evening—their interpretative dance performances set to the iconic Circle of Life music. The dances were a true testament to the creativity and teamwork of each group.

Around 10:00 PM, the teams embarked on an adventurous search outside in the garden for a nature walk activity. They had to find seven papers, each assigned a specific point value, adding an exciting element of strategy to the evening’s activities.

The interpretative dance competition concluded with the Mighty Troopers claiming first place for their impressive performance. The overall champions, however, were the Brave Scouts, who emerged victorious across all events. Congratulations to all teams for their outstanding effort and sportsmanship!

ELECTION 2025

The student council election took place on February 14, 2025, with three teams running for office: Vanguards, Unifiers, and Catalyst. Each team was competing for various positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, PRO, and Year-Level Representative.

In the week leading up to the election, each team campaigned by visiting classrooms and promoting their team’s goals and values. The final push for each team’s campaign occurred just before the election on February 14, when they presented their platforms and outlined how they intended to achieve their objectives.

After the votes were cast, the teachers tallied the results from each class. In the end, Team Vanguards emerged victorious with 103 votes out of a total of 158 voters, securing a decisive win. Congratulations to Team Vanguards!

The elected officers are:

  • President: Shreya Quessoji
  • Vice President: Raina Kaiss
  • Secretary: Kaythan Arone
  • PRO: Naeem Issufo
  • Year-Level Representatives: Serena Kaiss, Colin Costley-White, and Josh da Costa.

AFRO2

Africa Day Celebrations at MIC

The Africa Day celebrations at MIC began with a lively program led by the Kindergarten students. Each class presented vibrant African dances, showcasing the continent's rich cultural heritage. As part of the festivities, each section selected a pair of students—one boy and one girl—dressed in the most charming traditional African attire. These stylishly dressed students were awarded by the School Administrator, Mr. Hussein Yahfoufi, the School Director, Mr. Mohammad Jamil Kassem, and the Kindergarten Principal, Ms. Juliet Upano.

Following the Kindergarten performances, the Primary students took the stage with a program that introduced a unique twist while still highlighting traditional African dances. The selection of "Mr. and Miss Africa" involved fashion and a short question-and-answer segment, making the competition both fun and educational.

Here are the winners of the "Mr. and Miss Africa" contest from the Primary School:

  • Grade 1: Khalif Yussuf and Carla Casaman
  • Grade 2: Davi Da Conceicao and Mya Muslimane
  • Grade 3: Keion Buenaventura and Maysha Aileen Giva
  • Grade 4: Goncalo Sanchez and Maria Angela Casaman
  • Grade 5: Yunara Mandlate and Colin Costley-White
  • Grade 6: Dylson Caximo and Cindy Anagboso

The High School students participated in the celebration through a successful food sale, offering hamburgers, hotdogs, and a variety of refreshing drinks such as Coca-Cola, lime soda, and mixed soft drinks.

Congratulations to all the winners, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making Africa Day a memorable and joyful celebration. Happy Africa Day!
