AFRICA DAY 2026a

Africa Day 2026

Africa Day is a yearly celebration that commemorates African unity and the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in Ghana in 1963. At Maputo International College, students proudly celebrated the occasion by wearing colorful traditional African attire. A week before the celebration, the students practiced their dance presentations for the program. On the day before the event, the students also enjoyed small class parties where they shared food and drinks together.

During the celebration program, the Kindergarten Department performed first, followed by the combined presentations of the Primary and High School students. Most classes showcased lively cultural dances, while the doxology featured students singing beautifully. The event was graced by the presence of the school administrator, Mr. Hussein Yahfoufi, and Hassan Yahfoufi, the school director, Mr. Mr. Mohammad Jamil Kassem, and the school principals, Ms. Rindiyari Mapanzure, Ms. Juliet Upano, and Ms. Marly Gabriel.

Aside from the performances, the High School students organized exciting booth sales and activities such as selling drinks and snacks, face painting, can hitting games, and tug of war, making the celebration even more enjoyable for everyone.
